People have asked of the Abbotsford Lions Club “What are you doing in the community?” and sometimes we have done so much we forget all that we do, but here are a few:

  • Bursaries to students graduating from locate highschools.
  • Deliver donated flowers donated by Save on Foods Whatcom Road to Maplewood House.
  • Recycle used eyeglasses.
  • Personalize Easter Eggs at Walmart to raise funds.
  • Hold 2-3 fundraising poker tournaments per year, with the proceeds donated back into the community.
  • Participate in the Canada Day Parade with fantastic floats (and even a few award winning ones!)
  • BBQing for the King Traditional School Fun Day.
  • BBQing for the Abbotsford Hospice Society’s Hike for Hospice.
  • Christmas gift wrapping at Walmart to raise funds.
  • Adopt-a-block clean up.
  • BBQing for the Lunch with a Bunch senior BBQ.
  • Along with Lions Club International Foundation and the Aldergrove Lions, we donated Vestibular Head Impulse Test Equipment valued at over $30,000 to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation for use at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
